Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of showkit.dev (the "Service"). By creating an account or embedding our widget, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. The Service

showkit.dev provides an embeddable changelog, public roadmap, and testimonial wall for SaaS websites. We may add, change, or remove features over time. Material changes that materially reduce the Service for paying customers will be announced at least 30 days in advance.

2. Your account

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for everything that happens under your workspace. You must be at least 18 years old and authorized to bind the company you're signing up on behalf of, if any. One human per account.

3. Plans and billing

Paid plans are billed monthly in advance via Stripe. Prices are listed at showkit.dev/#pricing. Applicable VAT, GST, or sales tax is calculated by Stripe Tax based on your billing address and added at checkout.

You can cancel at any time from the customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — we don't prorate partial months. We don't offer refunds for unused time, except where required by law.

We may suspend or terminate your account if a payment fails and isn't resolved within 14 days, or if you materially breach these Terms.

4. Free tier

The free tier is offered as-is and includes a "Powered by showkit.dev" footer on the embedded widgets. Removing or obscuring that footer while on the free tier is a breach of these Terms and may result in suspension.

5. Your content

You retain ownership of changelog entries, roadmap items, testimonials, and any other content you submit ("Customer Content"). You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, transmit, and display your Customer Content solely to operate and improve the Service.

You're responsible for ensuring you have the rights to publish your Customer Content, and that it doesn't infringe anyone's rights or break any applicable law. We may remove Customer Content that we reasonably believe violates these Terms.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service for anything illegal, fraudulent, harmful, or deceptive;
  • upload malware, infringing content, or sexually explicit material;
  • resell, sublicense, or white-label the Service except on the White-label plan;
  • attempt to reverse-engineer the widget bundle or probe our infrastructure for vulnerabilities outside of a coordinated disclosure;
  • use the Service to send unsolicited bulk messages.

7. Intellectual property

We retain all rights in the Service, including the widget code, dashboard, brand, and documentation. The name "showkit.dev" and the logo are our trademarks. The "Powered by" attribution on the free tier is a license condition, not a grant of any trademark rights.

8. Third-party services

We use sub-processors to run the Service — Stripe (payments), Supabase (database + auth), Vercel (hosting), Cloudflare R2 (widget CDN), Resend (email), PostHog (analytics), and Anthropic (AI changelog drafting). By using the Service you agree these sub-processors may process your data on our behalf.

9. Warranties and disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We don't warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or meet any specific requirement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or USD 100, whichever is greater. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits or lost data.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your Customer Content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms.

12. Termination

You can close your account at any time from the dashboard. We can terminate or suspend your account if you breach these Terms or if we're required to by law. On termination, your Customer Content stays available for export for 30 days, after which we may delete it.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll post the new version here and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes that affect paying customers will be announced by email at least 30 days in advance. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil, including the Marco Civil da Internet (Lei nº 12.965/2014) and the LGPD (Lei nº 13.709/2018), without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The parties elect the Foro Central da Comarca de São Paulo, Estado de São Paulo, Brasil as the exclusive forum to resolve disputes, except where mandatory consumer-protection law (Código de Defesa do Consumidor, Lei nº 8.078/90) or the law of your habitual residence allows you to sue in your own jurisdiction.
